Everything you need to know
Two things to know first
This is a women-only programme, taught entirely within a female learning environment.
The diploma prepares you for Ijāzah-level study but does not itself grant an Ijāzah — we say this plainly so your expectations are clear from the start.
It is a structured, two-year distance-learning diploma in the science of the Seven Recitations (Qirāʾāt as-Sabʿ), offered online by Azharul Jannah Qur’an Academy. It covers 30 credit hours across 13 subjects over 6 semesters, modelled on the traditional Islamic University of Madīnah curriculum and adapted for English-speaking students.
This is a women-only programme, open to female students internationally. All classes and student interaction take place within a female learning environment.
No. The diploma prepares you for Ijāzah-level study, but it does not by itself confer an Ijāzah. An Ijāzah is a separate, personal licence to transmit, built on top of this foundation.
English — with the Arabic texts (mutūn) and technical terminology preserved throughout.
There are two ways to meet the memorisation requirement, and either one qualifies you: (1) memorisation of Sūrah Al-Baqarah, or (2) any two ajzāʾ memorised from anywhere in the Qur’an. In addition, you should have fluent Arabic reading and will attend a short camera-on interview covering recitation, ḥifẓ, and tajwīd.
You need to be able to read Arabic fluently, since recitation and the source texts are in Arabic. The teaching and explanation, however, are delivered in English.
We operate rolling (open) admissions, so you may submit your application at any time. Once we receive it, we will be in touch about the interview and the next available start point.
Tuition is SAR 100 per credit hour, so the full 30-credit diploma comes to approximately SAR 3,000 in total, spread naturally across your semesters. There is also a one-time, non-refundable application fee of SAR 100.
Withdrawal before the programme starts is eligible for a 75% refund of tuition paid. If a subject needs to be retaken, the retake is charged at 50% of the per-credit fee. The application fee is non-refundable.
Through live (synchronous) sessions on Moodle with integrated Zoom, supported by recorded lessons and notes for self-paced review. Cameras are on during recitation.
A minimum of 75% attendance of live sessions is required to sit the final assessment of each subject.
Through continuous assessment, periodic tests, and final written and oral (recitation) examinations. The pass mark is 60% per subject.
In your final year (QIR-204) you complete a capstone assessed in three parts: a research paper (55%), a teaching demonstration (25%), and a live defence (20%). You receive full guidance well before it begins.
