Azharul Jannah Quran Academy began with a simple conviction — that the Book of Allāh deserves to be carried with excellence, and that every sincere woman who wishes to learn it should have a teacher to guide her, wherever in the world she may be.
Ustādha Zahara Ahamath
Ustādha Zahara Ahamath — founder of Azharul Jannah and the designer and teacher of this diploma — has spent over fifteen years devoted to teaching the Qur’an and its sciences.
Her path is one of lifelong seeking. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sharīʿah from the Islamic University of Madīnah and a Master of Arts in Qur’anic Sciences, and is currently completing her Ph.D. in the same field. She has herself completed the Associate Diploma in the Seven Qirāʾāt from the Islamic University of Madīnah — the very curriculum this programme is built upon — so that she teaches it not from a distance, but from within.
More than her degrees, it is her connection to the Qur’an that shapes her teaching. She has received ijāzah (certified transmission) from recognised scholars in the foundational texts of this science, and has read the recitations by sanad to her own teachers — continuing her own studies in the combined recitations to this day, a student even as she teaches.
Through Azharul Jannah, she has designed and led programmes that have reached students in many languages and many lands — from a 24/7 global recitation circle to memorisation journeys through the Qur’an, courses for children, and a lecture series on the lives of the great imams of recitation. In every one, the aim is the same: to bring her students closer to the Book of Allāh — with knowledge, with care, and with love.

From a small circle in Sri Lanka to a global academy
What began in 2014 as a small effort in Sri Lanka has, by the grace of Allāh, grown into an international online academy serving women students across continents. Since moving fully online in 2017, we have welcomed tens of thousands of students into our circles of recitation, tajwīd, memorisation, and the deeper sciences of the Qur’an — taught patiently, one connection at a time, the way this knowledge has always been passed down.
